May is Better Speech & Hearing Month
During the month of May, Child’s Voice is celebrating Better Hearing & Speech Month by featuring all of our Programs in a “Spotlight Saturday” feature. This week’s feature is on the Administrative Support Team. We have introduced you to the Audiology, Early Intervention and Schools Programs which deal more directly with the children and families enrolled in our Programs. Our administrative team runs the day-to-day operations of Child’s Voice and includes functions in business operations, finance, and advancement. From welcoming the kiddos each morning to fundraising in order to make our Programs possible, our administrative team handles a little bit of everything.
When Dr. Michele was asked what she admires most in the kiddos, she replied, “These students are amazing. As our President of the Board of Directors said in his graduation address, these kids are our heroes! This is what a real hero looks and acts like. The students at Child’s Voice are the hardest workers I have ever met. Their ‘can do’ attitude and ‘never give up’ drive is commendable. These kiddos leave Child’s Voice ready to take on the world—or at least their mainstream school. I have witnessed incredible successes by the students and their families”.
Ms. Kim C’s favorite event is the Autumn Gala. She says “she enjoys seeing everyone in their best attire and having a good time”.
Ms. Kate’s favorite Child’s Voice event is the Alumni Board events. She said “My favorite Child’s Voice event…that is a challenge…I really love all our events, but in particular, the recent Alumni Board events. Seeing a room full of our graduates all chatting and enjoying themselves is just awe-inspiring. These graduates put in the hard work at Child’s Voice and are now in high school, college, and the workforce. They are putting the skills learned to work each day”.
When Ms. Dana was asked what she admires most in the kiddos, she replied “I am shocked at how much these children accomplish each year. The Child’s Voice teaching staff works very hard with each student, and in turn, the kiddos work extremely hard. I see children start the school program with very limited vocabulary, and within a few months, they are talking in complete sentences. It truly is amazing!”.
