Ethan is currently in the 7th grade at Summit School in Elgin. When he was three years old, Ethan was diagnosed with hearing loss and fitted with hearing aids. At the age of 6, his family found Child’s Voice and joined our programs immediately.
He shared fond memories of reading and being in the Learning Center. Ethan also stated, “My mom and dad love Child’s Voice. Attending made a huge difference in my life by teaching me how to talk.”
In 2009, Ethan transitioned to his mainstream school, but he was sad to leave Child’s Voice. However, he has kept those early friendships over the years with his buddy Will. He continues to see Dr. Dawn and some of the Child’s Voice staff when he comes to the Audiology Center for check-ups.
Today, Ethan is an active 13 year old that enjoys playing basketball and baseball with Special Olympics. He also participates on the Special Olympics Swim Team.
During a recent visit, Ethan visited with students in the Learning Center and had some fun helping them complete puzzles. Congratulations Ethan on all your success! We know we’ll keep hearing great things from you!
