Golf Tournament Recap
Another Child’s Voice Golf Tournament in the books! The 11th Annual Child’s Voice Golf Tournament was held on Monday, June 6, 2016. The sunshine and 75 degree weather made for an absolutely beautiful day for 110 golfers and over 40 reception guests and volunteers that attended the Tournament. This fun-filled day was another celebration in the Child’s Voice 20th Anniversary – 20 Years of Smiles!
This year’s Golf Tournament raised over $70,000 in support of Child’s Voice! These funds will offer children with hearing loss the opportunity to learn to listen and speak.
“What a day! I am so grateful to all our families, supporters and friends that made time in their busy schedules to join us and celebrate Child’s Voice students and graduates,” said Executive Director of Child’s Voice, Dr. Michele Wilkins. “Thank you to all who made this year’s Tournament possible from our sponsors and golfers to the great committee. You are making a difference in the lives of children with hearing loss!”
For the second year in a row, golfers spent the day at Willow Crest Golf Club in Oak Brook to support the listening and spoken language program for children with hearing loss at Child’s Voice. The event included a helicopter ball drop, raffle, live auction, and two of our alumni sharing their stories. Many alumni also attended the Golf Tournament; they volunteered, participated in hole contests, and even golfed!
“Seeing our alumni on the course, volunteering at this event and challenging other golfers – what a great example of the miracles that happen at Child’s Voice,” Dr. Michele Wilkins said. “I am so incredibly proud of our graduates and their achievements, it was thrilling to have them here at the Tournament showing everyone how fantastic they truly are.”
Thank you to everyone for attending! We hope you had as much fun as we did celebrating Child’s Voice! We’d love to hear your thoughts about the event by this short survey or emailing the Advancement Team. Hope to see everyone again soon!
